West Hollywood Restaurant
Sopra
By: Diane L Divo-Schultheis
This romantic Italian restaurant provides a spectacular view of the Hollywood Hills. It is located at 8840 W Beverly Boulevard. You are sure to have many memorable moments dining here.
The Setting
You must climb a 1950s style concrete staircase to the second floor and pass through a series of glass doors to get to this local eatery. It has had a few name changes, but this venue now offers a neighborhood bar and an Italian kitchen serving slow cooked pastas and meats. It is a cozy and very romantic restaurant with the most amazing view. It is not too formal or casual, but just right. It has small little silver disco balls hanging from the ceiling and very soft lighting. The dining area has floor to ceiling glass and suspended spotlights. There is a terrace in front with unbelievable treetop views of the local area and the Hollywood Hills.
The Food
They offer you either spuntini style that is “small portions” in Italian, or you can pick something from a more traditional menu. Many groups that dine together share a variety of dishes with everyone at the table. There is many unique cold and hot items to choose from.
The wine list has both Californian and Italian wines with a large variety of wines by the glass. They often change the menu weekly and feature seasonal offerings. They have something for everyone including meat eaters and devout vegetarians alike.

It can be a little confusing to find the first time since it is located on the second floor unless the valet is present below. There is an antique dealer next door.
The outside terrace is not only used by the smokers because it gives you a very lively drinking atmosphere and plenty of romantic two-tops for dining by the sunset.
